Teenagers

The Take 3 Programme is a comprehensive parenting programme for working with groups of parents of 10-18 year-olds. It is used throughout the UK by Youth Offending and Early Intervention teams, social workers, health visitors and other parenting professionals. The Programme has been independently positively evaluated and is validated on the Government’s Commissioning Toolkit. It is currently being run for parents of teenagers in Nyon and covers the Vaud and Geneva areas.

Take 3 Parenting for Teenagers (10-18 years)

What is the Take 3 Programme?

Take 3 assists parents in navigating through the complex task of parenting their teenagers. Drawing from invaluable resources such as; neuroscience, the functions of the teenage brain, family systems theory, effective communication and resourcing techniques, Take 3 focuses on providing parents with the necessary skill set needed to parent their teenagers effectively.

Rather than trying to change other people's behaviour, Take 3 focuses on changing the adults’ behaviour, boosting their self-confidence and assertiveness skills and taking a reflective look at the family dynamics at large. Exploring in some depth the reasons why young people feel and behave as they do and looking at individual relationships between parents and adolescents. Young people often change when their parents/carers change and Take 3 demonstrates that this works really effectively.

Take 3 aims to improve relationships between young people and their families and to improve young people’s behaviour at home, at school and in the wider community. This 6 week course equips parents with awareness and a necessary skill set that will assist them in navigating through the challenges of parenting their teenagers.
