CLINICAL
SUPERVISION

To sit with another person's complexity requires an ongoing
willingness to meet your own.

Clinical work asks a great deal of us. It demands sustained presence, the capacity to hold complexity, and a willingness to remain curious in conditions that are often uncertain, emotionally demanding and ethically layered.

Supervision offers a place to step back and reflect on what may be happening beneath the surface, in the client's system, in the therapeutic relationship and in ourselves as practitioners.

I offer individual and group supervision for counsellors, psychotherapists and trainees across a range of modalities. My supervisory work has also included coaches, heads of wellbeing in international schools and senior leaders within UN agencies and international organisations.

This breadth of experience has deepened my understanding of the complex human systems within which we work, and the ways culture, identity, power and belonging can shape both people and organisations.

TRANSFERRENCE & COUNTER-TRANSFERRENCE

A relational, systemic lens reveals what proximity can obscure

None of us sit outside our own culture, history, identity or systems of belonging. We bring our own wounds and assumptions into the room, alongside aspects of ourselves that remain, as yet, outside of awareness. Our clients do the same.

Much of what shapes clinical work operates beneath the surface of what is immediately visible.

Parallel processes, transference, cultural and intersectional differences, dynamics of power and privilege, and the echoes of a client's family system, these influences are often subtly at play.

Supervision creates the conditions to think about them carefully, with space, depth and genuine curiosity.

THEMES AND FOCUS

My approach to supervision is relational, integrative, systemic, transpersonal and collaborative. I am interested in the full range of dynamics shaping the therapeutic space.

We might explore a moment where something felt stuck or unexpectedly charged. We might consider what a client's material is activating in the therapeutic relationship, what a pattern in the work is pointing towards, or the impact the work is having on you as a practitioner.

There is space to think together about interventions and clinical decisions, alongside theoretical perspectives, ethical questions and your own professional development. Our focus follows what you bring, where you are in your practice and what feels most alive in the work at the time.

WHAT SUPERVISION SUPPORTS

Good supervision holds, supports, explores and deepens our clinical practice.

- CLINICAL AWARENESS that extends beyond technique to include the relational, cultural and systemic dimensions of the work.

- REFLECTIVE CAPACITY to recognise what is being activated in you and to use that awareness rather than be unknowingly driven by it.

- ETHICAL GROUNDING in the face of complexity, ambiguity and the genuine difficulty of the work.

- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT that is ongoing, honest and rooted in real experience rather than in the realities of clinical practice.

I welcome enquiries from qualified practitioners, trainees and professionals seeking a collaborative, relational and systemic approach to supervision.
